In honor of National Wear Red Day, Wellness Champion Dr. Jess Badwards created a special post encouraging us all to take one step toward improving our health.

“We have chosen a profession in which we often put taking care of others ahead of taking care of ourselves,” Dr. Badwards writes. “Many of us also choose to care for aging parents, children, friends, members of the community. But often, that leaves no time to take care of ourselves.”

So today, take one step – just one – one that you enjoy, one that is easy for you – toward wellness.

Maybe that’s cooking one healthy recipe that you’ve been wanting to make. Maybe that’s taking a walk with a loved one. Maybe that’s restarting a hobby that relaxes you, that brings you peace and clears your mind.
