In this week’s Wellness blog, Dr. Jess Badwards encourages you to get as much sleep as your body needs.
But for those working overnight shifts, that can be easier said than done, especially if consistent sleep is hard to come by. Sleep Foundation offers a few specific tips for the “how to.”
- Consider blackout curtains, as well as an eye mask if your room is too bright
- Earplugs and white noise machines may help you avoid other distracting noises
- Before going to bed, consider a hot shower or bath, meditation, or another relaxing activity.
- Try to avoid alcohol because even though it may relax you a bit, you may have sleep disturbances as your body breaks down the alcohol.
Here’s to hoping you can catch some quality ZZZZZs this week!
