Location! Location! Location! Alexander Garcia Gonzalez of Tampa, FL

Where do you want to work?

US Acute Care Solutions serves more than 220 hospitals in 20 states. We want to help you learn about our locations by meeting physicians who practice there!

Alexander Garcia MD is the medical director at AdventHealth Tampa in Florida and chief of staff at AdventHealth Zephyrhills. He has been with US Acute Care Solutions since 2016.

Dr. Garcia earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus, a medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico and completed his emergency medicine residency at Florida Hospital East Orlando as chief resident.

Q. What drew you to Tampa?

I like the fact that Tampa has the best of both worlds: the amenities of a big city with restaurants, night life and attractions, but also the feeling of a small town. I like to travel and having an international airport with direct flights to multiple destinations was a must for me.

Q. What do you enjoy about working at AdventHealth Tampa?

I like that it is a tertiary center with high volume and interesting pathology.

Q. What is unique about your hospital & location that you don’t think you would find anywhere else?

The hospital is central to different locations around Tampa. It provides the unique opportunity to live wherever you like and still be close to work. You can live close to the water; you can live in downtown or you can choose to live in the suburbs or the countryside.

Q. What kinds of opportunities can a physician expect at AdventHealth Tampa and at US Acute Care Solutions?

There are plenty of opportunities in Tampa and USACS in general. If a provider wants to be involved in administration, there are plenty of opportunities to do so within the hospital leadership and also USACS. If there is a specific niche that a physician wants to be involved in, we will try our best to make it happen.

Q. What do you do to encourage a quality work environment?

I see the Emergency Department as a very complex machine with multiple moving parts. It is for this reason that the only way to succeed is by creating a great team that can tackle great challenges on a daily basis. Nurses, techs, secretaries, registration personnel, janitors, APPs, physicians; we are all part of the team and we cannot provide great patient care without all the members of our team. We are as strong as our weaker member.
